Basic design review and endorsement
(Embankment and
Bridge)
Foreword,
Construction and development of road and
rail transportation is one of the pillars of
sustainable development in economic and
social fields. Today, 30 years after the
victory of the Islamic Revolution, we are
witnessing the country’s flourish in
different arenas. Economic pundits are of
the belief that development of road and rail
transportation infrastructures is in direct
relation with economic development of the
country.
Expansion of road sand railroad networks
has significantly speeded up within the past
decade so that now officials of the country
have mainly focused on development of
national road and railroad networks.
The country needs knowledge and effort of
domestic experts to be flourished.
Development is perspicuous in different
fields such as agriculture, industry, and
service. Drastic measures have been taking
for improving the economic infrastructures
of the country.
Local engineers and experts have designed
masterfully the colossal cantilever bridge
of Urmia lake complying world standards
which is to be the largest one of its kind
in the Middle East.
It has been planed that by the end of the
current Iranian year (March 20, 2008) the
first two-way lane of the bridge to be
commissioned. This project which is second
to none is to be completed after 28 years of
endeavor. No doubt that this achievement is
indebted to efficient management, proper and
objective planning and employing innovative
local manpower together with collective
decision-making and constructive
collaboration between the related bodies (
the Roads and Transportation Ministry, East
Azerbaijan governor general’s office, Iran
sadra Co. and all the contractor companies
of the company).
It is deserved that the statesmen appreciate
the act and lay the grounds for removing the
financial deficiencies of the project and
encourage the efficient local managers who
have succeeded in designing and mounting the
largest bridge of the country.
